Desire and its development, a story
A young teenage girl is visiting her cousins in Delhi. Their son of age 6yrs is finally going to meet his bua (Dad’s sister). They decide Nirula’s! A local jaunt with a menu that would serve a teenager and a youngling.
She orders a banana split, after being nudged into giving in by her loving brother. The youngling has a reaction around it. The complexity of rules for the youngling and the love for the guest plays out punjabi style! After we all have enjoyed treats, she notices the arcade machine - the one with the claw that plunges into plushies. The youngling and the teenager make excited noises until coins have been purchased. The youngling insists on going first, excitedly maneuvers the claw, his spirit moving faster than reality and it seems like he has won, but alas! The plushy doesn’t stay in the claw.
Now it’s the teenager’s turn. She is not looking to win, but just to participate in the fun with her cousin’s son. She, without much attention, maneuvers the claw, and it plunges and scoops up a plushy! and she still doesn't believe it will stay, but as a claw rises higher and higher with the plushy still in it, her eyes widen, she screams, in winning! I won I won! Her face is lit with the joy of winning unexpectedly.
The youngling is now having bigger emotions than he has ever had, even before the plushy makes it way to the pick up box, he is screaming in a tantrum “It's mine! It's mine. I want I want.”
And the softy teenager gives him the plushy. And holds a small little pain of not having her plushy that she so fairly won!
