What is co-regulation?
Co-regulation is what Sapiens need as infants to develop the capacity for self-regulation. It is developed through equal and healthy physiological attunement between mother, father, and child (neuroceptively). Parents who cannot self-regulate will not be able to co-regulate a baby. Such a baby won’t learn how to self-regulate and will depend on sympathetic arousal of hump/hurt to self-regulate as an adult. i.e destructive of self and other.
