Exchange vs Reciprocation.

Exchange is quantifiable. $20 for a book. $140 for a therapy session. Trading skills - one body work session for a sewing class. This requires agreement on clear terms of a transaction. It can be one size fits all or one size fits many. At most it can be sliding scale.

Reciprocation is qualitative. A husband tending to his wife after she gives birth to his child. Here it is not three hot meals and a back rub for a baby. It’s a continuous consideration of needs and fulfillment of them as needed for the wife to feel supported, nourished, cared for. This requires relating, understanding, consideration and contribution. This is as unique to a relationship as the human finger print.
